These applications are supported both at a data and source code level. Issues related to both data input and export as well as application operation are handled by the IO's directly
These applications are supported at a data file format level. The IO's are responsible for ensuring that data output can be read by these applications. In select cases the IO's also ensure that the data generated by these applications can be read and inserted back into the main data storage system.
For these applications the IO's are not responsible for the source code and are not the point of contact for feature, bug or other related inquires. Every effort is made to ensure that contact information for these applications is provided and up to date so that users can contact the authority responsible for these tools.
These applications are supported neither at the source code level of the data file format level. Examples of applications in this section include excel, Google Earth, GMT and others.
Effort is made to use file formats that are easy to import and transform. Formats like XML, CSV and excel are common examples used by these tools. While these apps are not supported the IO's will do what they can to help users of these tools when possible.
